Life is a Joke

Other nations didn’t understand why Filipinos love to laugh at their problem. They say, we don’t really take things seriously and we even come up with a set of jokes regarding the latest issues that our country is compromising. Well, Filipinos are jolly persons in nature. They do not intend to ignore their problems and just laugh at it all the time. Being a citizen of this third world country is not an easy task. However, despite all the things that is happening around them. They still know how to manage it as if there is nothing to worry about. It is just their way of lessening the burden that they have in their every day life. Whatever the latest issue, there is a particular joke that corresponds to it.

The critically acclaimed Erap Jokes are the most popular and the all time favorite. Many have criticized it because it was such a rude way of expressing disagreement toward the president. But even Mr. Estrada is very much aware of that and he is used to the accusations of being a “not so smart” president. Take note, even he is just laughing about it.

ERAP: “I have a brain cancer. Yehey!!!”

Ramos: “That’s delicate, how come you’re still happy?”

ERAP: “Now I know I have a brain!”

Part of the several ways to reduce stress is to laugh at our problems. And so did the Filipinos. Mostly, the less fortunate group of people in the society is those who find laughing as a temporary escape to their problem. The reason to do this is because their lives have been full of so much unwanted circumstances. And it was really hard for them to cope up with these things. They just take things lightly so that the pressure wouldn’t overpower there thoughts and behavior. Anyway, laughter is the best medicine.
