Ice Princess

A thirteen year old girl native from Camarines Sur takes home 11 gold medals from a series of ice skating competition held in the United States of America. Anna Isabel Villafuerte bags a total of 20 medals from all the four skating competition she has joined.

Her passion for propelling herself on ice began at an early age within a regular shopping mall in Metro Manila. Because ice is not possible here in the Philippines, the little girl used to do her ice skating activity inside the mall where ice skating rinks are provided. While her mother is busy on her shopping, Anna is also busy too with her skating.

When her mother saw the potential on her daughter, she tries to seek some help from professional Filipino skating coaches. Anna has been subjected into five year training under coaches Ted Domingo and Albert Aguilar. Soon after, the little girl has been battling out on international competitions sanctioned by United States Figure Skating Associations (USFSA) and International Skating Institute (ISI). The young skater is the first-ever Filipino to be accredited by the prestigious Colorado-based USFSA.

After going back here in the Philippines, Anna is set again back in the U.S. for a series of training as a preparation for the next two Winter Olympic Games that will be held in Vancouver, Canada (2010) and Sochi, Russia (2014). So far, based on the history, there are only four Filipino athletes who have competed in the said Olympics.
