My Memories at DLSU St. Benilde

One day when I was able to go home from my work in Manila. I decided to take the LRT in Central Station to Vito Cruz station in Manila. When I was in the LRT I was very excited to unload from the LRT immediately because I will be back to the place where most of my memories are treasured. Then I have reached Vito Cruz station and went out of the LRT very excited.

Taft Avenue and LRT by Night by Drinoboi.

The first place that I went was the University Mall or UM. It is not like those other malls that are very huge and cozy that has lots of botiques there where people can shop, or restaurants where people take their meal. UM is a very small place, it is a place where students from La Salle, Benilde, and St. Scho hangout during their breaktime or when they cut class. As I enter UM, the first thing i saw was the benches, as I looked to those benches, it all recalls my college life, because those benches is the place that I usually hangout before going home, upon coming to the school, while waiting for my next class, and when I was alone waiting for some of my friends while smoking. It also recalls my hangout days with my good college buddy, we sit there every breaktime or before we go home, chit-chatting with one another while smoking and spotting some hot girls around. It also brings back some times that me and my college friends hangout to those establishments in UM like the 8 Warriors, the place where we usually play playstation while waiting for the next class, the billiard hall were we also spend our time playing billiards, and the PLATO restaurant where we hangout drink beer, and some restos that me and my friends usually eat.

Then I went down the mall, explored it so much and reminise the unforgettable moments during my college life. Upon exiting UM, I saw the most popular beggar in Taft Avenue, his name is Jenny, yes, he's a male, but he's gay. Jenny is popular in Taft Avenue because he is really loved by all of the students from La Salle, Benilde and St. Scho. Outside the UM, I saw Jenny guiding a car at the parking lot in UM, then he saw me and noticed me with the smile on his faced and said, "Kuya! Kamusta? Alam mo mahina na tuhod ko may arthritis na ako," then asked money from me, of course it is the La Sallian tradition to give him even a just a peso to help him.

Then I crossed the street, went to the side of my school, the College of St. Benilde. I was smiling because I'd love to see the buildings of our campus and gosh! it looks to be much better now than before when I was still a student there. Before, we only have two buildings but now we have three, and the new building is really cool and modernized style both exterior and interior. While looking at our campus, memories are came back again. I pictured myself with my friends coming in and out of the campus just like before. I also pictured out the times that we eat in the canteen during lunch break or on regular breaks, hanging out in the library to research, to study and to do some homeworks, also the times during pre-enrollment to enrollment days with us students being busy in choosing our subjects, fixing our schedules, suffering in a long line thru the registrars office to adjust our schedules or thru the school cashier to pay our tuition fee. The campus also recalled the times that me and my classmates walk around the campus, using the elevator, borrowing audio or video equipments from the school, and hanging out in the theatre or the empty classrooms.

Another place that recalled my student life is the Madison Condo beside CSB. It is the condo where my college classmate used to stay. We also hangout there, watch tv, or movies in his DVD player, it is also the place where we do our group projects, meetings, and it is also the meeting place of our class whenever we have educational trips.

I was about to go home but I decided to hang out at the Charlie Brown Grill or formerly known as Chowking. It is a place where smokers hangs out. I bought a pack of cigs at the vendor then she noticed me, kinamusta niya ako then she said,"Napasyal ka ah", then I decided to go home by riding a collorum at the parking lot of UM which I always ride whenever I can't bring a car to school due to color coding.

But the most interesting is the whole Taft Avenue, now that I have graduated, everytime I pass thru Taft, it makes me smile, and makes my brain think again of the good and even bad memories during my college life. Taft Avenue is the place that is very important to me, it is a place where all my student memories will never be gone forever.

It was one of the greatest day in my life, I felt happy because I came back to where my memories are. Whatever happens I will never ever forget that place. Because Taft Avenue is considered as one of the treasured places in my life. I miss college life very much.
