A 25 Peso Inn

On a typical day of work, one could find it very exhausting to attend heavy traffic jam on his way home. Luckily, the government has provided a very affordable and convenient place for this worker to spend their night with. So, there’s no need to frown, Juan Dela Cruz, because Gwapotel will surely be a cozy place to be.

Two months ago, the second Gwapotel Inn was open to the public to further provide the Filipino convenience in their everyday lives. This other branch of the said 25 peso inn is located along Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo, Manila. Just like the first inn, the occupants would only be charged P25 a night. This includes the bed and bath facility.

The aim of this government project according to the Metro Manila Development Authority chairman, Bayani Fernando is to pay tribute to the Filipino workers who spend an average of P150 a day just for their transportation fare and other related expenses. Now, with Gwapotel, they will only spend P25 for them to spend their night after a long day of work. Usually, the workers find it hard to go back home after their work. Everyday they must face the long hours of traffic within the metro. At this point, it is no longer economical to spend a lot much on transportation fare alone. Lately, the fare prices on public utility vehicles are a bit higher than the usual. Another advantage of this idea is that to lessen the commuters going home so that it will also minimize traffic congestion.

The Tondo Gwapotel provides accommodating facilities for each occupant to nestle to. It has separate quarters for males and females, air conditioned three-deck capsular beds. The said beds are equipped with good lumbar support, tubular control panel for individual spotlight and piped-in music.

Chairman Fernando would like to encourage each average wage workers to acknowledge this government project that was really made for their benefit. The MMDA is looking forward to build more Gwapotel for the benefit of the Filipino citizens.
